How to play at Onekaka Links
As the course is either being maintained or used by members most of the time it’s only open to visitors on limited occasions during spring, summer and early autumn.
The Onekaka Links experience offers you Kauri Cliff/Pebble Beach-like vistas and is probably the hardest “short” golf course you will ever play. It will relentlessly expose any weaknesses in your game and whether you have a good day or a bad day it will be memorable.
This could be the most-limited access golf course in the world so most golfers are unlikely to ever get the chance to play it.
Why? Because the members only open the course for visitors for 30 days a year and only one group of four can enjoy the course on each occasion.
Hence a maximum of 120 rounds (30 groups of 4) will be auctioned by tender annually.
A “round” includes up to 9 holes practice before the round and includes exclusive use of the course - no other players will be permitted on the course that day.
We will provide or arrange:
• A return shuttle service from your Golden Bay accommodation
• Brunch on arrival
• Golf cart and trundlers
• Distance finder
• Course guide (the club champion) and forecaddie (required for the blind shots)
• A top-up supply of golf balls
• Complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the end of the round
How to tender
Tenders open on 1 September each year for the next twelve months from 1 October. The highest thirty tenders (to be emailed to chris@widespread.co.nz) received during September will be accepted. Successful tenderers will be advised of the available dates – once these have been finalised payment is required to confirm a reservation.
In the event of extreme weather conditions the booking will be transferrable to the following day.
